Surfing In Newfoundland

When a swarthy Italian, Surfer Dude arrives in
an isolated coastal town in rural Newfoundland, and begins to ride the big waves that break there, the locals are perplexed.

Surfing in Newfoundland?

The Dude covertly sabotages his own antique pick up truck, "stranding" himself for six weeks. In that time, he changes himself and the community forever.

The Dude is a smuggler, waiting for a hundred kilo "drop off" of... something.

But there's a problem. The "drop off" is cancelled. Instead, there will be a "transfer of the goods at sea." The Dude must befriend a local fisherman, and get that person in on the deal.

The charismatic Dude pulls out all the stops to achieve his epic goals in this sexy, action packed comedy full of human twists and turns.

Who is The Dude? What's he really doing here? And in the end, who's using who?

There's plenty of lying, loving, surfing, fucking and fighting in this story.

The Dude falls in love with Christine, a young female fisherman. That wasn't supposed to happen! Christine's ex boyfriend vows to crush The Dude, as does Wince, her father.

Will The Dude pull it off? Will he get deported? What's he smuggling? Will he get busted for illegal fishing? Will he survive being lost at sea? Did that visiting American surfer really drown? Why does The Dude have four passports? Can he win over Christine's father? Will the town survive it's fish plant closing? Did that condom come off?

The act three climax is a shocking, heartwarming, hilarious twist of many fates. The "transfer of the goods at sea" becomes a giant community event, complete with a five boat flotilla of cops, townsfolk, the immigration department, fisheries patrol, friends, surfers, and an Old Skipper who's more wily than all of them put together. The Old Skipper (Christine's grandfather) made his fortune as a rum smuggler, and it's his cunning that saves the day for everyone.

In the end, The Dude must make a choice. Will he stay and start a family, or will he go?

Surfing in Newfoundland. It's great once you're in.
